Joe Partridge is a filmmaker & narrative strategy consultant.

He loves telling great stories, helping people reach new audiences, and writing about himself in the third person.

Storytelling is the most powerful communication tool that we have. Good stories move people, and bad ones bore people.

From cave paintings to camp fires to the printing press to the big screen to your instagram feed; storytelling is baked into the human experience. It is how we share our lived experience and how we connect to each other. Ultimately, if you’re not telling a story you aren’t really communicating.

The telling of a good story is an open and honest act that, when done well, demonstrates shared values, beliefs or interests. A properly good story creates a bond between its teller and its audience.

Good storytelling gives a brand a soul, a personality, a history, and allows it to start making friends.

Filmmaker

Making films that make a difference.

I have been making films for brands since graduating from Met Film School in 2015.

Film is the most effective tool for storytelling. It is the easiest and most direct way of getting your voice in front of an audience. We are consuming more minutes of video content than ever before, but a lot of the content we consume is low impact, attention grabbing rubbish. I am passionate about helping brands create meaningful video content that creates genuine connections to audiences.

Making films that people actually want to watch, crazy idea, but it might just work.

Narrative Strategy Consultant

Helping people use the power of story to effect change.

I have worked with a diverse client base to help brands find a voice and start communicating with their audience in a way that makes that audience engage with them.

Too many brands are talking at people and not to them.

What you do and how you talk about what you do are equally important. The stories a brand tells change the way people feel about that brand, and people engage with brands that they like.

Having a narrative strategy is not just a marketing exercise, it’s about creating and managing a brand perception that connects with people.

Stop yelling about yourself at your audience, and start telling them good stories that they care about.

If you’d like to know more about how I work, or would like to discuss a project, I’d love to hear from you.
