This film was one in a series of five that I made for Greenwich University. The initial brief was quite complex as the University wanted to convey a large amount of information. Their aim was to give a holistic insight into the experiences of their international students.

To achieve this we decided to produce five mini profile documentaries with students from different parts of the university, and a diverse range of backgrounds. This film is one of those documentaries.

This project also had a research element - the University were keen to capture a genuine record of their students’ experiences. This opened up the opportunity for students to participate in the planning process for the films, offering suggestions on material that would be suitable. Taking a co-production approach to these films also helped the participants feel more relaxed and involved in the projects.
