Community Tree Planting
Woodland Trust
This film is one from a series of films that I was commissioned to produce for the Woodland Trust. It focusses on a community group in south London who are using support from the Woodland Trust to regenerate the green space around their apartment block.
The organisation wanted to create a series that would inspire community groups to plant trees in urban areas. The organisation is often associated with its conservation work, but they wanted to find a way of highlighting the community work they do, especially in economically challenged urban communities.
We decided to focus the film around the leaders of these community groups, to show that anyone who wants to make change in their community can do so. For this film I decided to use a hand made documentary style to help the stories feel relatable and to make it easy for the audiences to connect with the contributors.
