Royal Wharf Community Film

Howells/ Ballymore

This project was a joint commission from Howells (the architecture firm) and Ballymore (the property developer). These two organisations have worked closely together to deliver thousands of new homes across a previously disused part of East London. One of these developments is Royal Wharf; a now thriving community of ten thousand people, with high quality housing, schools, parks, community centres, and businesses. Howells wanted to demonstrate to the government that they could help to meet their ambitious housing targets, while still creating communities that people enjoy living in.

The project involved taking a journalistic approach to gathering genuine testimonies from members of the community. This worked really nicely as I wanted to make a film that felt real and warm (just like the development).
